The basic unit of narrative is a moment.
Pierre Varignon was a French mathematician. In the late 1600s and early 1700s, Pierre made contributions to statics and mechanics, notably the Varignon's Theorem, also known as the Principle of Moments.
The net moment about one axis on an object is equal to the sum of the individual moments acting along the axis.
Over the last 99 days, ODE has been our axis—the point in which we have gathered around. The moments acting along the axis have been our attention—the moments in which we have chosen to spotlight each day as an ODE.
The sum of these moments, the net moment, lay before us tomorrow on the 100th day of ODE tomorrow. When we break down Varignon's Theorem, we learn that the sum of these moments applied creates movement.
Over the last 99 days, your narrative has been filled with great movement. Through this single act of attention and celebration, you have put meaning in moments that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. You have been writing a new narrative.
How will you celebrate your 100th day?
This is your final weekly, Sunday Roundup. Please submit (via this form) a picture of your favorite ODE from week 14, November 2 - November 8 along with the title of the other ODEs you wrote. You have until Tuesday at 5 pm EST to submit your ODEs for the previous week. Wednesday you will receive the Midweek Pause with everyone’s ODEs.
Note: there is a spot on the form to include tomorrows 100th and final ODE in the project.
Keep celebrating,
Katie
