Katie here. Stoked to have a crew of 40 people signed up, scattered around the country, and even hanging out internationally that will be celebrating moments over 100 days together.
On Sunday the celebration begins!
I've laid out all the details on how this works. In the next few days here's how you can get ready:
Grab a notebook, set of notecards, or print our template. Dedicate some materials that make you want to celebrate and create.
Think about when you will write your ODE. Will you spend 5-10 minutes creating when you wake up? Go to bed? Find time to create a little ritual.
Check your mail...something is coming your way!
Review how this works and let me know if you have any questions or ideas on how to make this better.
And...it's not too late for any family and friends you think might enjoy to sign up. Send them the link. I think a special way to experience this project is by doing it with someone that is important to you and you spend a lot of time with. You see where their attention is drawn in a special way.
ODE is rooted in celebrating moments. In January of 2019 I went to an exhibit in Chicago where I saw students paying attention to the little details--the nooks of their neighborhood, the crook in their friends' smiles, the tattoos that they marked their skin with. They took photos and wrote about these things. They called them ODEs. Since then this idea has stuck with me, of capturing moments of extraordinary in the ordinary whether they are happy or sad, exciting or boring moments. I hope that spirit and attentiveness to ordinary moments comes through you in the coming 100 days.
I will leave you with a short quote:
“Survival lies in sanity, and sanity lies in paying attention...the capacity for delight is the gift of paying attention.” ― Julia Cameron
Talk to you Sunday!
